5. You need huge amounts of cash just to keep up with the latest upgrades
and if you don't, you are considered "out of date".
4. If another product comes out that threatens their market position they
buy it.

spurious information, and leave you on hold forever.
....and the #1 reason that WotC might really be Microsoft?
1. Every new release needs at least 5-10 updates before it works the way
it's supposed to.
