ABSTRACT: A brief Jorune Timeline.
Jorune Time Line
THE TIME OF ISCIN
0
War between the Humans and the Shanthas
6
Iscin creates blount
14
With the blount, iscin creates crugar. They are somewhat of a dissapointment.
18
Creates woffen. An improvement, but certain trails are lacking for survival.
21
Creates bronth. Considered a success. What Iscin did not know was that the
stability of the genes he created would be tested by thousands of years and
the effects of the ongoing mutations which would effect life on Jorune for
the next half millenia.
24
Creates Tologra (as secretly as possible, for fear of crugar reaction). At
this point, the crugar are as old as 10 years.
Choundra, an especially fiesty crugar has demonstated great cunning (Iscin
notes in his journal).
27
While patrolling, several crugar are shot and killed by a human with a
blaster. Bomoverous has arrived, and is shocked by the presence of
god-forsaken forms of life. Before he can be surrounded and killed by the
remaining crugar, Iscin arrives, and saves him. The crugar are infuriated
that Iscin allows Bomoverous to live, but Iscin tells them that they cannot
kill a human. Choundra in particular refuses to allow the incident to pass.
Having not spoken in 22 years, the two men have much to discuss. As they
talk, they find themselves in ever more disagreement. Iscin cannot accept
Bomoverous' genicidal solution to human annialation, while Bomoverous
considers Iscin's experiments a breach of ethics and morality, "The
alteration of those creatures is a perversion of their form." All the same,
as two surviving humans, they realize that they are very special on this
planet.
Choundra makes an anempt on Bomoverous' life. Iscin arrives on the scene, and
is shot dead by Choundra, who was attempting to kill Bomoverous. The energy
weapon used by the crugar was modified by Sellnsib, the blount whom Iscin had
personally trained in the ways of Earth-tec. In the confusion of Iscin's
death, the death of the "giver of life," Bomoverous was able to escape. The
creatures knew not of his eventual fate.
THE GREAT WANDERINGS
29
The surviving creatures eventally leave the encampment after suffering at the
hands of the ruling crugar. They headed west, crossing the Kuggin Mnts. and
entering the Doben-al.
32
After traveling for 3 years, the bronth and woffen split up. The woffen
travel south east while the bronth continue north. They eventually reached
what is today known as Ros Crendor. The blount that travelled with them
settled in the Dau-ah-deh. Although not generally recorded, the tologra
created by Iscin accompanied the bronth though they were still young.
33
The cmgar of the encampment bicker amongst themselves, and are faced with a
food shortage. They head west to follow some of the migrations of herd
animals. Later, in the Doben-al, they split apart. The differences between
what will be crugar and cygra start showing up at this time.
The cygra conungent continues to travel north.
HUMAN BEGINNINGS ON JORUNE
250
Ardoth is established as a fishing village. Its location precludes the
possibility of attack via-warp.
600
Gauss Valley and Mayatrish
602
Son Paul Gauss.
616
Year of Khaun's death
617
Thombos used for durlig harvest. Muadra race will be permitted to survive
here.
633
Mayatrish dies in the first of the Valley Plagues.
800
Trade and link-up between Gauss Valley and Ardoth.
1100
Plague in Gauss Valley. Khaun Gauss Abandoned.
1100-1200
Many of the cities near the Gauss Valley populated. Northern cities such as
Sychill and Lelligire are founded around this
time.
1700
Crugar from the Doben-al enter through the northern Gauss Valley, driving
most of the population out. Khaun Gauss is bruned to the ground.
1900
The crugar have lived in the valley for two centuries. They are driven out by
extensive drought. They travel west, to the Doben-al.
2000
Khaun Gauss returns to a functional population.
2200
Human migrations to North or South Khodre because moon alignement creates
enormous tidal disturbances. Many coastal cities destroyed for the first
time.
2200
Ramian invasions into Sychill and other coastal cities come at the same time
as the ruin from the tides.
2220
North and South Khodre peoples established.
2704
Laindra Elain travels east.
2922
Caji Gends trained by Sho Copra-Tra, Sholari of Tashka
2934
Caji returns to his pitiful little village; shows other muadra the ways of
Copra. Trains them in a peaceful manner. Bennid Ho-Gomo is also trained (his
knowledge later filters down to other races).
2934
Ninindrue Plague Slayings
2934
Caji trains his band in the Desti; they defeat the crugar killers. Woffen
relations with muadra improved.
3007
Shandane brings relief to Ardoth and drives out the crugar forces which have
seiged war against the city for weeks.
3113
Ramian invasion past Lelligire into Sydra pushes the S'sydrans south, and
eventually into Glounda.
3115
S'sydrans decide to take their chances in Glounda. Those who don't want to go
form a population base at the steps of the Uggit Mnts. in a city named Elds.
3160
Ardis' Dharsage contingent is finally successful in driving most of the
ramian out of Burdoth. Sychill's army is mostly destroyed. Ardis expands to
include the Sych ill region. The Sychillians don't like this, and rebell
later in 3181.
3161
Lusail is mopped up, but the Dharsage can't control a region this large; her
forces are already spread out too thin, especially with taking Sychill.
Lelligire, as Trosoe has renamed herself (meaning the "beaten" Gire) fills
the power vacuum left by the flight of the Sydrans. When refugees return,
they find that their city's remains are being scavanged by the Lelligirians.
3181
Sychill revolts, expells out Ardothian garrison. Forces are sent by sea.
Muadra uprising in Sychill during this period?
3371
Salrough Gomo Born
3385
Thriddle math breakthrough in the theoretical description of warp mappings.
No applications possible yet.
3391
Thriddle now in contact with various races. Thriddle in much stronger
contact. Salrough grows up in a the dawn of a new era.
3412
Prince Khodre Allonkarb born.
3418
Crugar started their mass invasion/assault across the Doben-al. Drive is
slow. Led by ChaIn Docha.
3432
Prince Khodre, age 22, commits more forces to Heridoth in what has become a
drawn out engagement. He was originally supporting Koistra against Sholis.
3435
Crugar invasion picks up momentum. The humans of Gauss hear of the crugar's
crossing of the Doben-al. The woffen and bronth of the valley begin recon
into the Doben-al.
3436
Crugar invasion reaches the Gauss Valley. Forces split north and south as the
crugar pillage Burdoth. Lusail, the Sobayid and Ardis (the Essanja is safe)
under siege. Prince Khodre turns his attention to this incoming assault too
late to prevent their approach on Ardoth.
3437
(early) Crugar invasion makes it as far as Ardoth. The old walls are
over-run. The city is cut off except by sea. Energy weapon rediscovery:
result of warp progress of thriddle. The Sallecia arrives from Tan-I ricid in
Ardoth's Dharsage harbor bearing energy weapons from the secret Earth-Tec
cache site. The humans drive the crugar from the walls and start their
north/south expulsion of the crugar, north through Lusail and south through
the Sobayid.
3438
ChaIn Docha dies under mysterious circumstances in the Dobe n-al. Khodre
robbed of the victory of defeaung the crugar leader directly.
3440
Crugar pushed back to the Temauntro borders after bloody battles across
northern Burdoth and the Doben-al.
3441
Ardothian forces return to Heridoth to find Dobrens in control of Heridoth's
Eastern coast and entering Sholis. With a powerful energy weapon arsenal at
his disposal, Khodre will not permit this.
Energy weapons placed in the hands of Drenn and Kesht in the military. These
side-arms indicate great prestigue, but are more for self defense than
outright military advantage; heavy weaponry such as laser turrets and blaster
rifles make the greatest difference in the large scale combats. Power cells
are in short supply, and Khodre has no portable source of renewable energy
from which to tap. Thus, the pistols cannot be re-supplied, energy must be
conserved and used for the large-scale weapons.
Late 3441
Saress Khodre is born to Lailia Dharmery in Kirlan, which has been renamed
South Khodre. The Dharmery family has great influence and control in these
parts. Lailia is 31 at this time; she will rule North and South Khodre until
she is 52, at which time she will bequeath her power to Saress.
3442
Battle in Heridoth gets underway. Khodre has initial success in Sholis.
The destruction of Doo'sah, the retaliatory strike on Polpedroth. The sinking
of the Camder by the Maustin Caji at the mouth of Esh'eye Bay.
Maudra are expelled from Ardoth by Marshill Cardis. Most travel south, living
in huge encampments in the Sobayid. The rest travel north to Mar, or east to
the Gauss Valley.
3443
The war escalates as forces are brought into the heart of Heridoth.
3444
Khodre's forces start to lose their grip in Heridoth. The forces opposing him
are too great and his energy weapon arsenal is not growing quickly enough and
he does not have adequate energy cells (his Iscin have not yet divined the
use of Tec-Gens) to sustain the war. Battles rage in the Sommint Valleys.
Khodre returns to Ardoth, and marries Esilla Jaimare Cartan. He knows that he
cannot win the war in Heridoth as things stand.
Heridoth is temporarily a lost cause. He is looking for a way to bring his
forces out of Heridoth without losing completely.
Realizing the seriousness of the situation, Khodre meets secretly with Klein
Ko-Trid on the island of Curili. They discuss the basis of a settlement where
by the prince gives up Heridoth and the Doben-al, and allow muadra back into
the cities, and in exchange Heridoth becomes a neutral zone to all sides, and
additionally the Dobrens must evacuate Silipus. Khodre returns to Ardoth to
consider what he has heard.
Realizing that he will be accepting the conditions of the accord, Khodre
begins to worry about the presence of muadra within the capital. The effect
of daij upon humans has long been known but little understood until now.
Prince Khodre meets ramian on the island of Reet to arrange for daiyshirm-eh
exchange in the hopes of establishing a system by which muadra can be
monitored. Sillipus is chosen as the point of exchange.
Khodre Dhardrenn born to Khodre Allonkarb and his wife Esilla. His Prince
Khodre is on Reet at the time of his son's birth.
3445
Accord of Klein-Khodre and the end of the Energy Weapon's War. Klein Ko-Trid
arranges an accord between the Khodre and the allied forces. Khodre is to
relinquish control of Heridoth, the Doben-al, and direct control of the other
Burdothian provinces, although he will still lead the realm militarily. In
addition, Khodre must allow for muadra living within the Burdoth and the
confines of the Arodothian walls (although not necessarily within the
citadel). In Khodre's favor, the Dobrens and Lunderians must give up any
claim to Heridoth, that land is to be left to the Heridothians. In addition,
the Dobrens must give up all claim to the southern isle of Silipus which had
become a Dobren base during the war. The treaty was called the Accord of
Klein- Kdre, and provided that a council, located in Ardoth and consisting
of
representitives from Burdoth and other nations involved in the war, would
serve to monitor the actions of the Dharsage. Prince Khodre considers the
council idea ineffective, and assumes that its presense will not hamper his
jurisdiction significantly.
The Ardothian council is established with representitives from Lusail, the
Sobayid, Gauss, North Khodre, South Khodre, Lundere, Dobre, Heridoth, Tan-I
ricid, and Temauntro (though the crugar aren't quite sure why they've been
asked to participate in the affairs of Burdoth).
Secret human/ramian trade of shirm-eh for daij meat begins on the island of
Silipus.
Great numbers of "Daijic" appear in Ardoth.
3446
Refugees of Burdoth and Heridoth relocated to Silipus by Khodre. Dobrens
leave island only months before. New Sillipins left to fend for themselves
(though not in a worse way than they had suffered in their homelands).
Rebuilding of the Ardothian city walls overseen and encouraged by the
council. Outside labor is imported from Dobre and Lundere to help in the
reconstruction. The part of the city that these foreigners live in is called
"The Shen."
Ardothian Council generates considerable popular support by helping in the
reconstruction of Ardoth. Khodre is surprised at the level of cooperation.
3447
Metal coinage recalled with the re-introduction of "gem" currency. With the
laser torches available to the Dharsage, it is possible to uniquely identify
gems. There are: bits, yules (gemules), links (gemlinks), gems, gem-clusters,
and gem-stars.
3446-3448
Fighting between anti-caji groups and caji. Night raids and oaji homes burned
spur immediate retaliation which bring daijic and yords into the conflict.
Still, caji assimilation into the culture begins. They learn that calling the
yords is a better long term solution than frying racists.
3449
Muadra (with the support of the Ardothian Council) push for the establishment
of "Kerning Bays" located throughout Ardoth. This causes friction between
Khodre and the council.
3450
Kerning bays permitted, fees required. Only 12 in all of Ardoth. Most kerning
bays located in run-down parts of cities. This includes Ardoth, Miedrinth,
Sychill, Lelligire. Glounda remains an exception, permitting dysha use within
city bounds.
Not satisfied with the Accord, the disillusioned remains of the Maustin Caji
are persecuted and driven into the ETJL. They will later become the nucleous
for a violent counter movement against the thriddle of Tan-I Iricid
3451
A portion of the Dharsage army is sent to South Khodre to protect the realm
against crugar raids.
3452
Heavy daij/shirm-eh trade is directed through Sillipus. Island character as a
city of corruption and open opportunity established. Several thousand humans
have lived on this island since before the turn of the century, but with the
influx of refugee humans, the social impact becomes staggering.
3453
Ardoth's city walls rebuilt.
New energy weapon cache discovered.
3455
The Maustin Caji (vets of the war against human aggression) stir up trouble
in Anasan. They have just travled through hundreds of miles of dark jungle,
and are disenfranchised with their treatment by the Ardothians. Traveling
through this sparceley populated realm, they push their weight around.
Death of Esilla Dhardrenn (maiden Cartan) in childbirth. Baby boy dies at the
same time. This is Khodre Dhardrenn's mother.
Kirra Ho-Trid becomes Khodre Dhardrenn's tutor and mentor.
3456
The Maustin Caji take over Rhodu, Anasan's capital city, terrorize the
population. The take a ship and travel to the south-eastern tip of Thantier
where the disembark.
3457
The Maustin Caji terrorize the Thantierian population as they travel through
the realm. Upon reaching the city Othobin (Obothin), they commodear another
ship and set sail to Tan-I Iricid.
3458
The Maustin Caji land on Tan-Iricid and inflict random, senseless damage.
They travel to the mountain crown.
Late 3458
Dharsage forces sent hastily by Prince Khodre to Tan-I ricid to help stop the
Maustin Caji.
3459
Maustin Caji attempt to take Tan-I ricid. The Mountain Crown suffers some
damage.
3460
Maustin Caji contained by Salrough Gomo, Thriddle Seer of the North-west
Woodlands through a clever trap which prevents the Maustin Caji from warping
away. Most of the members commit suicide. The few remainders are taken
captive by dharsage forces that arive in time to help Salrough with his
defense. A few of the Maustin Caji are placed in keeper rods. Ransly Creb was
placed in a keeper rois a Thantierian).
3462
Prince Khodre becomes very ill.
Late 3462
The young prince Khodre, son of Khodre of Ardoth, makes small changes in
Ardoth. Keming bays are now free, and 15 new ones are constructed in various
parts of town.
Saress Khodre (she has her mother's name until this time) succeeds her
mother, Lailia, who is not dead, but old enough to pass on her rule. She lets
it be known that she is Khodre Dhardrenn's half-sister by taking on the last
name Khodre.
Saress is acknowledged by her father, much to the amazement of the
Burdothians and Khodrens. The prestigue of these people is boosted
significantly by the change. They will become part of Burdoth for all
practical purposes.
3463
Muadra mid-wives emerge. Launtra healnig dyshas are available for pay for the
first time.
3464
First cleash sighted in the East Trinnu Jungle Lands.
3465
Death of Prince Khodre. His son, Khodre Dhardrenn, assumes the Dharsage
title, and becomes ruler of Burdoth. His father's last real act was the
acknowledgment of Saress, which expanded her power immensly, while improving
the bond between the realms, which effectively strengthens Burdoth. South
Khodre is a "sister" realm to Burdoth.
3466
The Mass Conversion of Ardoth. Khodre Dhardrenn, the new Dharsage of Burdoth,
implements a program of naming many of Ardoth's streets and neighborhoods.
Inter-neighborhood commerce can now take place, because common street names
are used throughout the city.
3467
Rhan Trohan takes over the position of Che II of Ardoth after the death of
his predecessor.
3468
Khodre meets ramian Gire for the first time in Silipus to arrange for the
continuation of daij/shirm-eh trade.
3469
Human concern over cleash sightings prompts fewer expeditions into the
Trinnus.
Kerning bays located just outside the Cryshell Citadel are built so that it
is convenient for caji to enter without having to make a lengthy trip to a
distant kerning bay.
3470
Khodre learns of the thriddle's treachery that prevented his father's victory
during the war. All thriddle are expelled from Ardis, including his friend
and mentor, Kirra Ho-Trid.
Ardoth bans East Trinnu Travel for cleash threat.
Council discovers the Silipus connectilon and shirm-eh is cut off from
Voligire. Khodre immediately shifts over to "crystal-daijic" wherever
possible. Small daij supplies will last for now, being used for high security
within the Dharsage palace.
3471
The Voligirian plauge runs out of control. Those with shirm-eh live, those
without will die. An enormous assault is launched to Volig ire's south-west
in search of shirm-eh. The invasion is headed to Dobre and Burdoth.
3472
Ramian ships attempting to pass through the Sea of Sych ill are stopped. The
ram ian are attempting to reach the ETJL in search of shirm-eh. Sea battle
begins. Bronth war out their Loo-raums.
3473
Lelligire port passed as the ram ian travel between Burdoth's northern coast
and Reet. They are destined for the Syd Ira.
Penzer Cattletross sends his fleet to stop their crossing the Reetian
Straits. After sufficiently dismembering Lelligire the tire press inland in
search of shirm-eh. Faced off with Dharsage legions inland, the ram ian make
a quick inland run and retreat.
3474
Ramian siege is crushed on Dobre's northem coast by Dobrens and Crendorians
with help by Lunderian and Dharsage forces. Ramian survivors return to
Voligire to greet their ravanged realm.
3475
Council learns more of Khodre's part in the ramian's supply of shirm-eh.
Dobre in particular, with their heavy losses wants a price extracted from the
Dharsage ruler. This information is never made public because the civil
unrest and division of the public it would create would put Burdoth on the
brink of civil war.
3475
The council will bring in a force of advisors into North Khodre.
3476
The "Warp-Flash of 3476." Hundreds of thriddle trek through warps in
south-western Tan-Iricid to show up in Cosahmi.
They travel into Ardis begging for entrance to Ardoth. Khodre refuses until
he learns that one of his cohorts has just been lost in Glounda, only 15km
from Ardoth.
Khodre Dhardrenn grants the thriddle new acceptance in Ardis, stipulating
random, irrational conditions which are later revoked. This mad rush of
thriddle brough with them individuals from Tan-I ricid proper whom had never
experienced a non-thriddle existance. Their lack of Burdothian savy came as a
shock to Ardothians who thought that they were used to thriddle. In
particular, the entrance of querrid caused problems.
First Muadra on the Ardothian Council (from the Sobayid)
3477
The damage done by the Eelshon Sheevid is kept as secret as possible.
3479
Major Isho storm in Glounda. No known casualties.
Major border disputes at the Temauntro border.
3480
Piracy hits the Dau-ah-Deh under the direction of Saress.
3481
Acubon refuse to sell colell to the North Khodrens.
3484
SR1O1 published.
3484
Kolovisondra breaks free
3484.8
Council is outraged at Khodre's plan to take Kolovisondra for its shirm-eh.
Although no actions are taken, the council takes punitive steps to restrict
outside sources of daij meat.
3485
Trouble in the South Fields of Ardoth.
3486
Word from various diplomatic channels indicates that...
